FaxToFax uses only the cookies it needs to work: one to keep you signed in and, while the site is in private preview, one to remember that you have been given access. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, we do not use tracking pixels, and our fonts are hosted on our own servers so your browser does not contact font providers. Stripe's card payment fields load from Stripe on the payment page only. Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, we do not ask for cookie consent.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Websites can also store information in your browser in other ways, such as local storage and session storage. This notice covers all of these.
2. Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| ftf_session | Keeps you signed in after you enter your one-time code. It cannot be read by scripts on the page, is sent only over encrypted connections, and is not sent with requests from other websites. | Strictly necessary, first-party | Expires after at most 12 hours (the current maximum session length). The session it belongs to ends sooner when you sign out or after the inactivity period your organization sets (15, 30 or 60 minutes). |
| ftf_gate | Remembers that you entered the site-access code while FaxToFax is in pre-launch private preview. Used only during the preview. | Strictly necessary, first-party | 30 days |
3. Information stored in your browser
| Name | Where | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| f2f-prefs | Local storage | Remembers display preferences on this device, such as whether to hide sensitive details on screen, your browser notification preference and tips you have dismissed | Until you clear your browser data |
| f2f-next | Session storage | Remembers the page you were trying to open so that we can take you back to it after you sign in | Until you close the tab or sign out |
This information stays in your browser. It is used only to make the app work as you expect.
4. Third parties
- Stripe: on the payment page only, card fields are loaded from Stripe so that your card details go directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers. Stripe may set its own cookies or use similar technologies there to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies apply.
- Cloudflare: our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie if its protection features are triggered, for example to tell people apart from automated traffic.
5. What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No analytics cookies. We count visits to our public website without cookies or anything stored in your browser: we see which pages are viewed, the referring website, your country and your device type, but not who you are, and we do not keep your IP address.
- No social media plugins or tracking pixels.
- No third-party font requests; our fonts are self-hosted.
6. Consent and your choices
Data protection and electronic privacy laws, such as the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, allow strictly necessary cookies without consent. That is why we do not show a cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings, but if you block the session cookie you will not be able to sign in.
7. Browser notifications
If you allow FaxToFax to show browser notifications, your browser stores that permission. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser settings. New-fax notifications never contain the contents of a document.
8. Changes
If we ever want to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it, and update this notice.
